Blue Crab
Four Bedroom Oceanfront House, Located in Caswell Beach
We have come to Oak Island for several years, and have stayed at the Blue Crab each time. It has always been good for us, an affordable place on the ocean. The house is nice and comfortable and the beach here is great. Being on Caswell Beach, there is little traffic and there has never been a problem with excessive noise or parties. We already have made our reservation for 2009!
Favorite Family Activites: Play on the beach, fish in the surf, take the ferry to the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher, see the local sights, eat fresh seafood!
Favorite Places to Visit or Eat: We like to eat at Turtle Island and Fishy Fishy as our meals there are always good. We love fresh seafood and are not dissapointed at those restaurants. Surfers restaurant has a great breakfast. They are in a new location now, and serve dinner, but we did not eat dinner there. Bella Cuccina is wonderful, and is another place we are sure to visit each year. Good Italian food, good seafood as well.
Take the ferry ride to Fort Fisher, and go to the aquarium. It's beautiful, educational and a lot of fun. It doesn't cost a lot and makes for a good day.
Walk around Southport, nice shopping and the old cemetary is very interesting.
